Photographer’s tip for James Ward Mansion wedding:
James Ward Mansion is located at the heart of the downtown Westfield. While it is certainly not the largest venue you will find in Central Jersey, it is perfect for intimate weddings and private events, and the place is gracefully decorated with classic furnishings. I wouldn’t recommend having a lot of colorful uplighting here that could overpower the venue’s natural style. Also, since the main entrance leads directly to the Grand Salon via staircase, you may want to invite the guests at least thirty minutes earlier than actual ceremony start time, so that no one arrives late and cause unintended disturbance once the ceremony starts. What’d be even better? Putting a sign up that says “CEREMONY IN PROGRESS, QUIET PLEASE” at the entrance. All in all, it’s a fantastic venue for couples who want a non-cookie cutter wedding in NJ.
